मुंबई, दि.24 : नवी दिल्ली येथील IIIDEM मध्ये भारताच्या निवडणूक आयोगाच्या वतीने आयोजित वकिलांच्या राष्ट्रीय परिषदेचे उद्घाटन मुख्य निवडणूक आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली झाले. या वेळी निवडणूक आयुक्त डॉ. सुखबीर सिंग संधू आणि डॉ. विवेक जोशी हे देखील उपस्थित होते. या परिषदेत भारताच्या सर्वोच्च न्यायालयातील आणि देशभरातील 28 उच्च न्यायालयातील ज्येष्ठ विधिज्ञ तसेच सर्व 36 राज्ये व केंद्रशासित प्रदेशांचे मुख्य निवडणूक अधिकारी (CEOs) आणि निवडणूक आयोगाचे वरिष्ठ अधिकारी सहभागी झाले.
या उपक्रमाचा उद्देश आयोगाच्या कायदेशीर चौकटीला उदयोन्मुख आव्हानांचा सामना करण्यासाठी अधिक प्रभावीपणे पुन्हा आकार देणे आणि समन्वय साधणे हा आहे. परिषदेच्या माध्यमातून अनावश्यक वाद टाळण्यावर आणि सर्व संबंधित पक्षांना योग्य त्या सुनावणीची संधी देण्यावर भर देण्यात आला.
दिवसभर चाललेल्या या परिषदेने देशभरातील प्रख्यात कायदा तज्ज्ञ आणि आयोगातील प्रतिनिधी यांच्यात संवाद साधण्याचे महत्त्वाचे व्यासपीठ उपलब्ध करून दिले. ही परिषद भारतातील निवडणूक संबंधित न्यायप्रणालीच्या बदलत्या स्वरूपाशी आयोगाच्या कायदेशीर संसाधनांना जुळवून घेण्याच्या दृष्टीने एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पाऊल ठरली. यामध्ये निवडणूक कायदे, न्यायालयीन प्रक्रिया आणि कायद्यातील सुधारणांशी संबंधित मुद्द्यांवर विशेष भर देऊन आयोगाच्या कायदेशीर संघटनेची कार्यक्षमता, तयारी आणि समन्वय वाढवण्यावर चर्चा झाली. या संवादाद्वारे विविध न्यायालयीन स्तरांवरील आयोगाच्या प्रतिनिधित्वाची प्रभावीता वाढवण्याचा उद्देश होता.
शुक्रवारी, IIIDEM नवी दिल्ली येथे आयोगाने मुख्य निवडणूक अधिकाऱ्यांची स्वतंत्र परिषद आयोजित केली. या परिषदेचा उद्देश आयोगाच्या IT उपक्रमांची दिशा निश्चित करणे आणि भविष्यातील योजनांची आखणी करणे हा होता. ECI ने 2025 मध्ये एक अभिनव उपक्रम सुरू केला असून, ECINET नावाचे एकात्मिक डॅशबोर्ड विकसित करण्याचे काम सुरू केले आहे. या डॅशबोर्डच्या माध्यमातून आयोगाच्या सर्व माहिती-संबंधित उपक्रमांना एकाच प्लॅटफॉर्मवर आणण्याचा प्रयत्न करण्यात येणार आहे. संबंधित कायदेशीर अटींच्या मर्यादेत राहून सर्व भागधारकांना आवश्यक माहिती सहज उपलब्ध होईल असा हा उपक्रम असल्याचे भारत निवडणूक आयोगाने कळविले आहे.

ECI convenes National Conference of Counsels and CEOs to strengthen and reorient its legal framework
Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar in the presence of Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi inaugurated the National Conference of Counsels representing the Election Commission of India at IIIDEM, New Delhi. Senior Advocates from the Supreme Court of India and 28 High Courts across the country along with the officials and 36 CEOs of all States/UTs participated in the Conference. This initiative is aimed at strengthening and reorienting the legal framework of the Commission to meet emerging challenges more effectively by achieving synergy. The conference laid emphasis on being non-adversarial and to offer ample opportunities for hearing.
The day-long conference provided a vital platform for dialogue and exchange between the Commission and prominent legal professionals from across the country. The strategic engagement marks a significant step by the Election Commission in aligning its legal resources with the dynamic landscape of electoral jurisprudence in India. Discussions focused on enhancing the preparedness, efficiency, and coordination of the Commission’s legal team, with particular emphasis on issues related to election law, judicial proceedings, and legal reforms. Through this interaction, the Commission sought to reinforce the effectiveness of its legal representation across various judicial forums.
On Friday, the Election Commission held a conference of Chief Electoral Officers at IIIDEM, New Delhi. The conference was held to firm up and devise a roadmap for the IT initiatives of ECI. ECI has already incubated a new initiative in 2025 to design and develop an Integrated Dashboard, ECINET, to provide a single-window access to all the relevant data, within the ambit of requisite legal provisions, required by all its stakeholders. This unique initiative will unify all the ICT initiatives of ECI under a single umbrella.
