मुंबई दि. 26 : राज्यपाल रमेश बैस यांचे आज महाराष्ट्र राज्य भारत स्काऊट आणि गाइड संस्थेचे मुख्य आश्रयदाते म्हणून पदग्रहण झाले.
राजभवन येथे राज्याचे क्रीडा आणि युवक कल्याण मंत्री तसेच महाराष्ट्र राज्य भारत स्काऊट आणि गाइडचे अध्यक्ष संजय बनसोडे यांच्या उपस्थितीत झालेल्या पदग्रहण सोहळ्यात स्काऊट-गाइडचे राज्य मुख्य आयुक्त तथा क्रीडा व युवक सेवा आयुक्त डॉ. सुहास दिवसे यांनी राज्यपालांना स्काऊट-गाइड प्रतिज्ञा दिली.
यावेळी मंत्री श्री. बनसोडे यांच्या हस्ते राज्यपालांना स्काऊट स्कार्फ तसेच आश्रयदाते पदक प्रदान करण्यात आले.
स्काऊट स्कार्फ परिधान केल्याने व्यक्तीला नम्रतेची आणि कर्तव्याची जाणीव होते. देशातील ४७ लाख स्काऊट-गाईडपैकी १३ लाख सदस्य एकट्या महाराष्ट्राचे आहेत, ही अभिमानाची बाब असल्याचे नमूद करून राज्यात स्काऊट आणि गाइड्स यांनी युवकांमध्ये व्यसनमुक्तीसाठी अभियान राबवावे, तसेच प्रत्येक स्काऊट व गाइडने एका तरी रोपाची लागवड करावी, असे आवाहन राज्यपालांनी यावेळी केले.
स्काऊट्स व गाइड्सनी स्वच्छ भारत अभियान राबविण्यात तसेच ‘कोविड’ महामारी काळात चांगले काम केल्याचे नमूद करून शाळा महाविद्यालयांनी स्काऊट गाइडचे काम गांभीर्यपूर्वक करावे अशी सूचना राज्यपालांनी यावेळी केली.
आयुक्त डॉ. दिवसे यांनी स्काऊट-गाइड चळवळीचा इतिहास सांगितला. स्काऊट चळवळीच्या माध्यमातून विद्यार्थ्यांचे चारित्र्य घडवले जाते. तसेच विश्वबंधुत्व भावनेचे संवर्धन केले जाते, असे त्यांनी सांगितले. महाराष्ट्र स्काऊटच्या राज्य चिटणीस सारिका बांगडकर यांनी आभार मानले.

Maharashtra Governor takes oath as Patron of Maharashtra Scouts & Guides
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais was formally sworn in as the Patron of the Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides at an Installation ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Tue (26 Sept)
The Governor gave the 3 fingers Scout Guide salute and read out the Scout pledge ‘to do his duty to God and India and to help other people’ on this occasion. State President of Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts Guides and Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Sanjay Bansode was present.
State Chief Commissioner of Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides Dr Suhas Diwase gave the oath to the Governor, while Minister Sanjay Bansode presented the Insignia and Scarf of the Scouts to the Governor on this occasion. Office bearers of the Maharashtra State Bharat Scouts and Guides Association were present on the occasion
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor called upon the State Association to launch a de-addiction campaign among the youths of the State. He praised the State Association for its work during the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan and the COVID – 19 pandemic. State Secretary Sarika Bangadkar gave the vote of thanks.
