मुंबई, दि. 18 : राज्यात 62 हजार 366 अंध मतदारांची 23 हजार 101 मतदान केंद्रांवर नोंदणी करण्यात आली आहे. यंदाच्या विधानसभा निवडणुकीत राज्यात 3 लाख 96 हजार 673 दिव्यांग मतदारांची नोंद करण्यात आली आहे. या दिव्यांग मतदारांमध्ये 38 हजार 763 मूकबधीर, हालचाल करण्यास अक्षम असे व्यंग असलेले 1 लाख 76 हजार 615 आणि अन्य स्वरुपाचे 1 लाख 18 हजार 929 दिव्यांग यांचा समावेश आहे.
राज्यातील96 हजार 661 मतदान केंद्रांपैकी 65 हजार 483 मतदान केंद्रावर दिव्यांग मतदारांची नोंदणी झाली आहे. त्यात 17 हजार 957 मतदान केंद्रावर मूकबधीर, 42 हजार 905 मतदान केंद्रावर हालचाल करण्यास अक्षम असे दिव्यांग आणि 20 हजार 465 हजार मतदान केंद्रावर अन्य स्वरुपाचे व्यंग असलेल्या मतदारांची नोंद झाली आहे.
या सर्व मतदान केंद्रांवर किमान अत्यावश्यक सुविधा पुरविण्यात येतील. मतदान खोलीपर्यंत सुलभतेने जाण्यासाठी रॅम्प, इव्हीएमवर ब्रेल भाषेतील मतपत्रिका, व्हीलचेअरची सुविधा पुरविण्यात येईल. मतदान केंद्रावर दिव्यांग तसेच जेष्ठ नागरिक मतदारांकरिता वेगळ्या रांगेची व्यवस्था असेल. त्यांना मदत करण्यासाठी ‘दिव्यांग मित्र स्वयंसेवक’ असतील. दिव्यांग मतदारांना सुलभ निवडणुकीचा आनंद मिळेल यासाठी भारत निवडणूक आयोगाकडून विशेष प्रयत्न करण्यात येत आहेत.

More than 62,000 blind voters registered in the state
Mumbai, 18.Oct.19: Around 62, 366 blind voters have been registered at 23, 101 polling booths for the coming assembly election in the state. In this year 3, 96,673 disabled voters have been registered their names in the state for the election. These handicapped voters include 38,763 deaf persons, 1, 76, 615 persons with disabilities, and 1, 18, 929 persons with other forms of disability.
Out of the 96, 661 polling booths in the state, 65,483 polling stations have registered disabled voters. Of them, 17,957 polling booths have deaf and dumb voters while 42,905 polling booths have such voters who are unable to move, and 20,465 polling booths have voters with other forms of disability.
All these polling stations will have the minimum required facilities for disable voters. Braille language ballots on EVM, wheelchairs and ramps will be provided, on the day of election. Separate queues will be made for the disable and senior citizen voters at the polling station. There will be ‘Disable Friend Volunteers’ available to help them. Special efforts are being made by the Election Commission of India to ensure that the handicapped voters enjoy easy elections and increase the numbers of voters.
